How third party web services can help with the marketing of a brand

As the internet evolves and grows, the importance of e-commerce to many types of business continues to increase. Initially mostly the preserve of large corporations, e-commerce has become accessible to and widely embraced by a host of smaller businesses. So much so that the logical next step in the evolution of the internet and way we will do business into the future lies in the effective harnessing and exploitation of web services and the related technologies that allow web services to work properly, e.g. payment and community systems. With the massive growth in the area of applications, bits of functionality can be stripped out and provided, for example, to smaller businesses connected to a supplier that help with the marketing, sales and distribution of  products, allowing them to check product availability and product details or even place orders or bookings directly with the principal supplier.
