9 Reasons You Aren’t Getting Responses to Your Genius Facebook Posts

9 Reasons You Aren’t Getting Responses to Your Genius Facebook Posts

Why isn’t anyone responding to my awesome Facebook posts?

If you’ve ever asked yourself that question before, don’t worry, you’re not alone, and your entire web marketing strategy isn’t a bust because of this situation. Here are 9 reasons why you’re not getting all the “likes” and comments you want, and how to fix it:

1. You’re asking irrelevant or personal questions. Don’t ask your fans what they’re doing on Friday night or what they had for breakfast this morning. Instead, ask questions related to your industry and that encourage conversation.

2. Every post is just text. While it’s ok once in a while, posting nothing but text day after day is boring! Add a picture, video, or infographic to spice things up.

3. You’re pushing too hard for a sale. People will “like” your Facebook page because they are interested in your company and in your industry, so occasional posts about your products are ok, but make sure there is a reason behind each post besides “BUY ME!”

4. You’re not sharing the best content. You should try to branch out a little bit beyond your niche. For example, if you own a gym, you are probably posting a lot of tips and links to articles about exercise. But if your fans like fitness, they are probably also interested in nutrition, beauty, dieting, and more. Add some variety!

5. You’re not asking yourself “why?” Every time before you post something, ask yourself: “Why would someone want to “like” or comment on this?” Maybe it’s informative, or maybe it’s funny . . . but if there’s no point or passion behind it, don’t post it.

6. You’re not showing appreciation. If someone leaves an insightful comment, say thank you. If they ask a question, answer it. Make sure you get involved and respond to your fans when appropriate. If they don’t feel appreciated, they’ll stop trying.

7. You’re not offering your fans anything. Contests and giveaways are sure-fire ways to get people to like, comment, and share.

8. You’ve given up too fast. Building an active fan base on Facebook takes time—it’s not going to happen overnight.

9. Just because no one’s commenting doesn’t mean no one’s reading. Even if you still don’t get a ton of comments or likes after a lot of time and effort, it doesn’t mean your entire web marketing strategy is a waste. People are still seeing your posts and probably even remembering some of them, even if they don’t take immediate action. Never throw in the towel!
